Dear Members & Friends,

Almost six months of 2020 have gone by and we are relieved to note that the CMCO is hopefully now coming to an end. We hope everyone is able to recover well, be it socially, economically and/or fundamentally. However we still need to practice social distancing. We look forward to your visit for any purpose, be it volunteering, adopting or donating in cash and in kind.

Report on Lost Pets

We are sad to note that reports on lost pets have been received by us almost daily. We advise pet owners to exercise extra care while owners stay home and safe. Not many pets can find their way home and later end up as strays seen to have an unhealthy skin condition and suffering from malnutrition. If they are lucky they can be picked up/adopted by good Samaritans and/or brought into shelters. Finders are also advised not to keep or pass on to others for adoption before their rightful owners can be found.

SPCA 2022 Desktop Calendar

Our appeal for sponsors for the calendar pages for year 2022 received overwhelming response. All pages have been taken up. We thank all sponsors for their quick response in answering  our appeal.

Volunteer Briefing

Our Volunteer Briefing to be held on 20th June will only be conducted if the CMCO is lifted. As mentioned we will restrict to 10 pax from now on. Registration for attendance at the briefing will be on a first come first serve basis. Please ensure that you can attend before signing up at https://spca-penang.net/be-a-volunteer/ as we do not want to deprive others due to the limitation of space. We will start at 9 a.m sharp and please be here on time.

A note to all volunteers, please wear a mask before coming in and be prepared for social distancing.

Animal Adoptions

As the shelter was not able to receive any visitors during MCO for almost two months, we were not able to get any animals adopted out during that time. Since our restricted opening as of May 18th thru the end of May, three cats and five dogs were found homes.

"Buy Them A Lunch" Campaign

Our thanks to Inti College students who are currently running their MPU Project Inti College Fundraising Campaign named "Buy Them A Lunch".  They have launched a special Facebook page here :

and people can donate directly to our bank accounts. Great effort - thank you!

We thank all the donors who understand the needs of NGOs and sent in donations to help whenever they can. Any amount of donation be it big/small means a lot to us. Your sense of charity in mind has touched the hearts of all at the shelter. Though our paws may not have realised that, at least they know they are being cared for daily with the meals and medical attention whenever needed.
