| SAYING GOODBYE TO YEAR 2016
Another year has almost gone by and we are getting ready to embrace the new year 2017 with hope that we can educate more and more people, young and old, on their responsibilities be it, as and when they enter the shelter with an eye to adopt, only visiting, making enquiries, volunteering, organizing fundraising projects, surrendering their pets etc.
In the month of December, it is the norm for SPCA to receive many school children coming in and making full use of their time with the animals at the shelter. This is indeed a healthy therapy for both animals and humans as one gets to stay away from the techie gadget environment.
We hope the coming New Year 2017 will bring us more good tidings. From our entire organization, we wish all of you the good wishes and thank you for the support extended to us throughout.
The month of November was a dull month for our animals. Only 2 dogs and 3 kittens left the shelter though we have visitors coming by looking to adopt. We hope December will be much better. For adoption, please visit our adoption gallery at www.spca-penang.net
AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ON ADOPTION AND FUNDRAISING AT INTI COLLEGE
SPCA had the opportunity to set up a booth at Inti College on 8th November. Puppies were brought in for the purpose of creating awareness as to how animals end up at shelters. The purpose was to encourage people not to adopt them with 'LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT' as puppies are all cute. A sum of RM1000 plus was raised through our donation box and from sale of SPCA merchandise. Our heartfelt thanks to the lecturer and students of Mass Communication team for their support in organizing the campaign at the college.
THANK YOU TO TAR UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
In the month of November, four different groups from TARUC came to SPCA Penang to perform their community service. They also did their own fundraising and donated to us.
CHILDREN'S WORKSHOP ON RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP
Our first workshop for kids on responsible pet ownership was well attended by 13 kids and 3 adults. Many have asked what this workshop is all about. We teach children on the care of pets and importantly their responsibilities as an owner. Children will be allowed to mingle and interact with the animals at the shelter. The small animals such as hamsters, rabbit and hedgehog are brought in through friends and associates for such purpose. We thank CTY Aquarium Sdn Bhd for their participation in helping us with our first workshop held on 30.11.16. The children were delighted and excited to have a feel of the many pets displayed for educational purpose.
There are still places for the workshops to be held on: 7th Dec., 21st Dec. and 28th Dec. To confirm a place do please email email@example.com or call us at 2816559. Let us have the name, age, telephone no and the date preferred.
GIFTS FOR EXCHANGE THIS CHRISTMAS

Thanks to all who have visited our booth at the Charity Christmas Bazaar in Straits Quay. Your support is gratefully appreciated and a very 'Special Thank You' to Ms. Marlene Fox for kindly inviting us to this annual charity event.
