When animals leave the shelter...

When time passes by after our dogs leave the shelter, it gives us great pleasure to hear how they are doing in their new homes.  At least we are assured that we have matched them carefully and happily with their new family. Once in a while, we do face failures especially when the animal adopted is not able to fit in its new home and is returned to the shelter. In some cases, the animal may have stayed for too long at the shelter and finds it a little difficult to adjust.  Adopters will become uneasy and concerned especially when the animal show signs of going on strike by not eating in the first two days.  The SPCA Team is extremely happy whenever we get after-adoption tales and photos from our adopters informing us how the animal adopted progressed and has grown in their new forever homes.

Highlight on Adoption

In April, we had 2 dogs and 2 cats leave the shelter for their new homes.  We had an influx of puppies entering the shelter, as well as calls for surrendering of cats. In line with our standard operational policy when we receive any animal, we do so with the understanding that the public understands our procedures well before leaving the animals at the shelter.  We will try our very best to do whatever we can.

Fostering homes needed

Would you care to help out with the fostering of these puppies temporary for a period of 4 weeks? We need people who are able to nurse them at least 3-4 times a day.  It needs someone who is at home most of the time to see to their needs.  To know more about fostering, kindly call 2816559 and speak to our animal care officers.

Community Service
We continue to receive requests from the education & corporate institutions to allow them to perform their community service towards animal shelters like ours.  We thank them for their act of kindness and thoughts in choosing SPCA as their beneficiaries.

SPCA Wish List
We understand that the economic situation is slow and not as good as it used to be. We appreciate  any form of donations, no matter how small, as it means a lot to us to keep us going for the benefit and welfare of the animals under our care.
