Bone Appetit Pets Centre, 3000A, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, 11700, Gelugor, Penang, – dogs welcome – open 11am to 9pm daily. Provide food of human grade ingredients for our four-legged friends. Cafe Gusto, 4 Jalan Sungai Kelian, Tanjung Bungah – dogs welcome – serves breakfast & lunch – open from 7:00am – 3pm. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 7:00am – 2:00pm Friday and 8:00am to 2:00pm Saturday, Sunday and public holidays. Closed Wednesday. Contact +604 890 4012. Find them on facebook.

Cosy in the Rocket, 262 & 264, Lebuh Pantai, George Town – dogs welcome in the courtyard – Opening times: Daily, 10am-5pm (including public holidays); Closed on Monday. Entry is through the restaurant so be considerate of diners who aren’t so comfortable with dogs. Contact +6012 496 7838.

Flash Back Cafe at 41 Lebuh Acheh, George Town – dogs welcome – they serve coffee, tea, beer, cake and snacks. Open 12pm to 6pm and 7pm to 11pm. (This is also a homestay but info is not available as to whether dogs are allowed in the rooms.) Contact 016-602 8696.

Starbucks on the corner of Jalan Kelawai and Jalan Lim Chin Guan is dog friendly. As is Coffee Bean on the corner of Jalan Lim Chin Guan and Jalan Gurney. Dogs outside only at these two venues.

Exercising your dog – please, wherever you walk your dog, remember to take bags with you to clean up after them and bring water for your dog:

Casa Permai Central Park, Tanjung Bungah – take Lebuh Lembah Permai 1, drive past the shops and turn right.

Japanese Garden, Jalan Mas, Green Lane.

Leader Garden Walk, Tanjung Bungah – coming from George Town turn left at the Grand Ocean Condominimums, when you reach Jalan Chan Siew Teong, the dog walking area is on the left.

Lebuhraya Rose Park – on Lebuhraya Rose next to the Penang Down Syndrome Association.

The Aqueduct, Batu Ferringhi – coming from George Town, turn left at the Holiday Inn, around to the right past Uplands International School, then first left.
