  Dear Members & Friends,

Good greetings to all!

SAYING GOODBYE TO YOUR PET

It saddens us at times to see pet animals (especially dogs) or pet carcasses picked up from homes in such a terrible and sad state. We know it can be traumatic and painful for pet owners to decide on euthanasia. But wouldn’t it be much more comfortable for the animal to be relieved from its sufferings than waiting for your pet to die a slow death or let it die naturally?

Allowing a pet to pass away in the safety and comfort of his home is a great gift and a comfort to you, but please ensure that you are able to support your decision by giving your pet its best for the last few moments!

This pet dog at left was collected by us for euthanasia as requested by the owner, totally neglected, very sad. This cat on the right was found in Lebuh Pasar, sadly too late for help.

Animal Adoption

October 4th is World Animal Day - we celebrate this day with great hopes that our shelter cats and dogs can be given a second chance to be adopted into your home. It’s a FREE ADOPTION DAY and we welcome any genuine adopters. Remember, 'Adoption is a Promise' and we expect your long term commitment!

In September, we had seven cats and dogs adopted into loving homes.

Community Service from various Colleges/Universities

Creating awareness on animal welfare is crucial as almost everyone associates themselves with animals.

We never say no to receive such requests for community service whenever an opportunity occurs. It helps the shelter in whatever manner it is received. For the first time, we received MCKL College’s call for students doing their bit for charity. In addition to their service, they also initiated a project to promote our merchandise as well as solicit donations from their college mates and teachers. It was indeed a job well done. Thank you.

It was great to receive 14 students from the KDU UOW School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts requesting to perform their volunteer activities at the shelter. These students also took the opportunity to raise a sum of RM600 by selling milk shakes in their college for purchase of pet food for our shelter animals. Our sincere thanks to all involved for making this project a success.

In line with the theme 'Fellowship Through Service' 16 Rotaractors from Rotaract Club Sentral College offered to do their part with cleaning activities, bathing and socializing with our animals at the pound.

Six students from the Year 2 Degree in Business at Inti College also joined in and gave their service.
