Dear Members, Friends & to whom it may concern,

Greetings from the SPCA Penang!

From the SPCA Management Board and in conjunction with World Animal Day which falls on 4th October, SPCA is running a neutering program to reduce the number of strays being dumped in markets and public places etc.

To curb the pet overpopulation, we are providing some funds to eligible pet owners and community feeders to help reduce the cost of neutering for cats and dogs. (This is applicable preferably for pet owners. However, community feeders will also be considered.)

SPCA is offering neutering vouchers of amount RM100-RM200. Think for a moment, for every bitch spayed, you help to save 4372 dogs from being born and possibly euthanized. As for cats, the figure is very much higher. In September, a total of 99 cats & kittens were brought in/collected.

If you are in that category, we would appreciate if you could email us at info@spca-penang.net or come direct to the office to apply and receive our neutering voucher.

To be eligible, kindly bring along your pet’s vaccination card. Also, let us have the appointment date and name of veterinary clinic where the neutering will be performed.

The SPCA depends entirely on donations received by Well Wishers. It is within the discretion of the SPCA that SPCA rejects any application if it finds the application unsuitable. SPCA is not obliged to give a reason should any application be rejected. For convenience, one can download the application form here.

We look forward to work together to help create a 'stray free' Penang.

Animal Adoptions

One of our long time paw residents 'Cookie' was lucky to be given a 2nd chance. Cookie was never able to mix with any of her peers except humans. Staff and volunteers were very careful with her especially when she was out for her interaction. We are glad that she has found her new home and stay happy always. In the September month, a total of three cats and seven dogs were adopted.

Comunity Service

The pandemic Covid 19 is still obstructing the public from providing community service to NGOs. Everyone is still staying safe and staying home. We are allowing not more than 10 pax at any one time should there be a request to perform community or CSR service at the shelter. We thank the following for their support.

  • 6 students from 4CCU3A Wawasan Open University for their donation and service

  • Zebra Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd for a Fundraising event organized within the organisation

  • Pet Awareness Campaign organized by a group of students taking Diploma in Information Technology at Segi College

2021 SPCA Calendars
We hope members, volunteers and friends are able to support this worthy cause. For every calendar sold, monies will go towards our neutering fund. For the year to-date, a total of 52 cats & dogs have benefitted from our neutering fund.

Volunteer Briefing
Our next Volunteer Briefing will be held on 17th October at 9 a.m. sharp. Places for this briefing date are already filled up. We expect those who signed up to be punctual and should there be any cancellation, kindly let us know early so as to allow others on the wait list to fill up the place.

Our thanks...
...to Janice for this mural art painting to brighten our walls.
