Dear Members & Friends
Greetings from the SPCA Penang! We are indeed very sad to note that the number of covid 19 cases especially in Penang has soared higher and higher lately. To all our friends, supporters and volunteers we hope you are keeping well and safe. At the moment, we are strictly not allowing visiting unless for a said purpose. Do call us to make an appointment should you have a reason to come. Hope everyone understands and not feel we are being unwelcoming. We sincerely wish to see all on better days to come, soon hopefully. We need to take precautions to ensure that our shelter staff stay healthy and safe for the welfare of our animals.
Animal Rescue In the past month, we have received quite a number of calls for picking up puppies and dogs from drains. This isn’t easy especially when the drain is deep and for such cases we will require the general public to contact the Fire Brigade at 994. Calls for disposing or surrendering of cats are enormous daily and never ending. It costs money to send out the authorities concerned to perform such task. As such, SPCA urges pet owners/social feeders to practice responsible pet ownership.

SPCA Calendar 2022 in aid of our Neutering Fund In view of the continuous Movement Control Order, we wish to inform all our friends and supporters that we will not be printing Year 2022 calendars for sale in aid of our Neutering Fund. We thank all sponsors who have each pledged a page. This project will be carried forward to the following year. Funds raised towards this project would have helped towards the neutering of shelter animals as well as aiding pet owners from the low income group through distribution of neutering vouchers. Contribution towards this fund is gratefully accepted. Donations towards this fund can be made through our account at MAYBANK 5074 3338 3428 in the name of Soc for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or CIMB 8004040996 at SPCA PENANG. Please indicate "For the Neutering Fund". Do email us proof of transfer (info@spca-penang.net) then we will be able to send you a tax exempt receipt.
A Thank You
We'd like to say 'Thank You' to Sylvia Ruth who was with as an intern from KDU for June, July & August. Though much of the time she was with us, she had to work from home due to MCO, she has done some great work on designing fliers to promote adoption/etc, including handling all the photography. We wish her well in her future endeavours! |

Pet’s Bowl Fund Run & Other Fundraising Activities The Pet's Bowl Fund Run which targeted people from all walks of life worldwide was organized by 7 Lights Event Company comprised of students from Han Chiang University College of Communication and was a success. It garnered good response from the participants. On another note, we would also like to thank the students from TARUC (MPU34132 Management of Sport Activity) for organizing a Virtual Charity Run (3KM) in aid of the society.
To the organizers of both groups, we say 'Thank You' from the bottom of our hearts for the concerted efforts shown. From these projects, SPCA was gifted with RM500 and RM325 respectively.
Our appreciation also to TLC Houseware Sdn Bhd for their efforts in raising awareness towards abandoned animals. With their campaign themed 'You save 10%, We donate 10%' towards sales of their brand name 'Relax Bottles', SPCA was presented with a donation of RM2000.
Lastly, a thank you to KDU group @alittlehope_penang for the donation of rice.  |
