Dear Members & Friends,
It is often said that pets live up to their names, and it is a challenge that we always face when we come to choosing names for the many dogs and cats that we place for adoption. When the staff are at a loss, cracking their heads for names, we are happy to rely on our fosterers and volunteers to name them. "Shadow" one of our TNR fully black cat speaks for himself. He seems to be in everyone’s shadow following staff and visitors that he sees and even weaves in between everyone’s legs. However, he knows his boundaries and will never go beyond into the dog kennels! He’s our great mascot too whenever there’s a presentation of donations in kind.

It is sad that due to the present situation, we are still unable to allow groups of students to perform their community service at NGOs like ours. However, we are still able to help students from the KDU with their projects via interview on google meet. During the interview we touched on animal cruelty and many questions were asked such as: Is animal cruelty on the rise during this time of the pandemic? Animal cruelty happens everywhere and in Malaysia we feel there is not much awareness of laws on cruelty towards animals. Some are even happy to record the cruel act inflicted on the animal and post such on social media to incite anger amongst animal lovers. It is annoying that people who witness the act are not always brave enough to report and this has allowed the perpetrators to continue doing so. (If you see a case of animal cruelty, please check here on how you can report it to the Department of Veterinary Services.) How can we stop animal abuse/animal cruelty? We should start teaching children at very young age to be kind to animals. The best time would be when they start going to nursery/preschool. |

We would like to thank all the kind hearted people who are very concerned about NGOs like ours. Your kind thoughts in writing/calling us to find out our needs are indeed commendable. Our daily needs are as follows
1. For the cats: canned and dry food. Advantage for cats and/or Frontline Spray to keep fleas away.
2. For the dogs: canned and dry food preferably salmon flavor. Unpolished rice, Cod Liver Oil, Brewers Yeast or any multivitamin for dogs, Herbal shampoos for dogs, Dog treats
3. A Mobile Phone which is of no use to you and still useable. This helps us keep in contact with our Field Inspectors while on duty.
4. Donations in the form of cash can be done via online transfer into our account at
