SPCA Penang
Welcome to our April 2026 Newsletter!

Dear Members & Friends,

Good greetings to all!

`When I was a puppy, I was a novelty to the family. How could you do that when you say you are no longer able to care for me anymore. The least you could do, try to relocate me to other loving homes or at the last resort seek shelters able to accommodate me’.

It’s heartbreaking to see an animal dumped/abandoned in this manner. We begin to wonder, was he sincerely lost from his home? If it was so, he could have been recognized and reunited much earlier before he reached such a state. We will groom him now and give him a vet check-up.

Adoption

We had a poor month with only one adoption. We are happy that Domino has a home with a huge garden. The adoption family coming back to SPCA to save another life means a lot to us. We are indeed grateful for their trust in SPCA. We hope to get many more homes like this. Our dogs and cats are waiting with hope that they can enjoy their time with their potential owners. Would you be one of them?

Domino is now utterly spoilt at his new home!

Happenings & Visits

International Women’s Day Event at INTEL

We had so many dogs and cats being remembered on an afternoon where volunteers from INTEL PG8 in Bayan Lepas clocked in their time on 30th March to hand paint tote bags. This unique project was held in conjunction with International Women’s Day celebrated at their Multi-Purpose Hall. Their finished products was passed on to the society to fundraise. Some were bought back by themselves for a donation. SPCA was also given the opportunity to set up a booth to bring awareness on adoption of animals etc. We thank all for their support with donations and purchase of SPCA merchandise. Our heartfelt thanks also to the organizers for making this happen.

The hand paint tote bags are now available for a minimum donation of RM20 each. To purchase, do drop by at the shelter during our office hours.

We had educational visits from the students and teachers from Church of Divine Mercy in Sg Ara and from overseas, the Lutheran Academy Hongkong.
