  Dear Members & Friends,

Covid 19 MCO and its effects on shelter animals

It is indeed a sad time for all of us with the Covid 19 pandemic happening all over the globe. With the restriction of movement, the SPCA TEAM feels like it is in the woods with no inhabitants except for hearing the barking and meowing noises from our dogs and cats when food is served. The shelter is now closed to all visitors and volunteers, ony the staff are present to care for the animals daily needs.

Our poor animals have lost the company of our volunteers and miss the bonding and interaction. We hope to be free from this pandemic soon and able to see life again at every corner.

Happenings at the SPCA Shelter

Activities have come to a halt for the moment until the dust settles, and we hope it will not take long.

Volunteer Briefings

No briefings for volunteer recruits will be held until further notice.

Adoption Highlights

Only three dogs and three cats were adopted in the early part of March and due to the movement control order imposed from 18th March, there were no further adoptions.

Appreciation

To John Shebat de Silva, thanks for the sponsorship of tickets for Syiok Sendiri Show 9 on March 8th at penangpac.

A visit to Fairview International School was made on March 16 to receive a donation from Five Primary Students, Abdul Wahab, Amogh, Caitlynn, Sarah and Zen Jia. These students organized a fundraising for SPCA selling cookies and tidbits etc in their school.

And our thanks to KDU COLLEGE Business students who finished their 3rd volunteering session in early March and donated cat and dog food.

SPCA Wish List

We say 'THANK YOU' to the supporters who answered  our wish list made in March.

At this crucial time with no avenue for supporters to come in with donations especially in kind, we would like to appeal to all to donate on line into our bank current account at MBB 5074 3338 3428 or at CIMB 8004040996. We need the donations to purchase food etc for the many dogs and cats under our care. Please email us at info@spca-penang.net with proof of your donation so we can issue a tax exempt receipt.

Thank you.
